Wireless Workplace complete installation at Coppid
Beech, Bracknell
London, England, 04/09/2003
London 4th September 2003 - Liberty Europe and
Wireless Workplace today announce the complete installation of a wireless
network (Wi-Fi) at the Coppid Beach hotel in Bracknell. At 204 bedrooms,
this is the largest complete hotel installation of its kind in the UK
to date, and allows any of the guests with appropriate Wi-Fi enabled equipment
to access the internet, email and online services at broadband speeds,
without a phone line connection.
The installation at Coppid Beach is based on the
802.11 wireless networking standard protocol and encompasses 24 access
points placed at strategic locations around the venue. This gives hotel
visitors complete Wi-Fi coverage at any location throughout the hotel.
Many hotel installations in the UK to date have been lobby or bar only.
Barry Shrier, CEO of Liberty Europe, one of the leading public hotspot
Wi-Fi providers said: “Wi-Fi is fast becoming a key factor in travelling
business people’s hotel choice. But your average hotel net user doesn’t
want to go down to the lobby to connect – they want to be able to do it
wherever they choose”.
Liberty Europe offers venues a complete installation,
backend billing and point-of-sale marketing support. Including lobby information
posters and leaflets and marketing training for venue staff.
Alan Blenkinsop, General Manager of the Coppid
Beach Hotel said: “We chose Liberty Europe for our Wi-Fi network provision
because of their commitment to after-installation marketing support. They really understand the importance of educating our customers about
Wi-Fi and generating revenue from those connections”.
There are 2 levels of pricing for Wi-Fi usage
at the Coppid Beach - £5.99 per hour or £12.99 for 24hours
usage. Users can connect by purchasing a voucher from the lobby reception
desk.
The radio network design and installation was carried out by expert engineers
from Wireless Workplace Ltd. on behalf of Liberty Europe Network Ltd.
